Taobh na Mara Céilí Band was formed in 2017 by a group of friends, who down through the years have played together at fleadhanna and festivals throughout the country. Although based in Dungarvan, County Waterford, the band’s members come from the Munster counties of Waterford, Cork, Clare and Kerry. Each member brings their own unique style to the band and are delighted when they get to come together to perform as Taobh na Mara. They were thrilled to win the senior céilí band competition in Mullingar in 2022 and take the Dal gCais down to The Déise for the first time in history. The band are now proud to present their self titled, debut album which celebrates the rich tradition of céilí band music as well as that of the Irish song tradition with guest singers Michelle Rattigan and Ciarán Ó Gealbháin.

Superbly played music with a great ‘live’ feel. Love Donal Lunny’s bouzouki the connection between fiddle and flute and the spot-on production and recording. Love it! Hope you lads go on to do loads more. thecapn_uk
Absolutely sensational - love the generally low-end tones and planxty-esque set up, but most of all the incredible energy of it! Wish more instrumental trad was like this, love the fact that it's recorded live too. Prangman
